The New York Women’s Insitute

Description

The Institute, located in the Union League Club building, convenes in NYC leading and emerging women of all fields of study and backgrounds – in scores of workshops, seminars, conferences, mentoring, and training opportunities.

CONCEPT: CATALYST – A substance (as an enzyme) that enables a chemical reaction to proceed under different conditions than otherwise possible.NYWI is a catalyst that not only allows for connections, but also for positive reactions to happen. Each one of the members and organizations that take part of the NYWI are catalyst as well.
The shapes and angles of the floor plan are derived from the study of the essential Carbon Molecules and their hexagon-shaped bonds. The hexagon wonders around the planning, never completely closed, to allow the visitor to act as the missing link – the catalyst – and close the chain.
